Anti-Radiation Diet

Another advice came from Dennis Joshua, a friend.

Here is Anti-Radiation Diet:-

  1. Algae forms, Chlorella and Spirulina.
  2. Bean, lentil varieties.
  3. Cruciferous veggies & B-Carotene laden veggies. (Note: Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, bok choy, cauliflower, bussels sprouts, kale and cabbage.)
  4. Food forms high in calcium, minerals & potassium.
  5. Miso soup
  6. Multi-minerals & vitamins in supplemental form.
  7. Olive oil.
  8. Nucleotide-rich foods (that help in cell reparation like yeast, liver, anchovie, chlorella, sardine, mackerels, algae, spirulina.)
  9. Whole grains

Stay away from the following:-
  1. Wheat and sugared foods.
  2. Genetically modified foods, processed foods, refined foods
  3. Fatty foods (which include meat, dairy products)
  4. Carbonated, gaseous soft drinks
  5. White sugar
When I browsed the net, I also stumbled upon another useful list also came from the Midnight Apothecary:

1. SEAWEED- eat nori, put wakame, kombu, and hijiki in your soups and stews. The iodine in kelp helps draw out the radiation and protect your thyroid from radioactive uptake.

2. MISO- Miso is amazing medicine- containing live cultures, minerals, amino acids, and protein. I’d recommend making a big pot this week, having a bowl everyday and feeding it to all your friends. Recipe follows…

3. MUSHROOMS- strengthen your immune system with some shitake mushrooms in your soup!

4. Lots of vegetables, especially DAIKON radishes and BURDOCK root- stick them in your soup too or make a shredded salad. Daikon has been used for drawing radiation, post nuclear fall out- it’s cooling and detoxifying.

5. BATHS in epsom salt.

6. DRINK lots of WATER.

7. IMMUNE support- do the things you know boost your immune system: sleep well, eat garlic and Vitamin C rich foods, laugh, rest, and limit your sugar intake.

8. HERBS.

How to protect ourself against nuclear radiation?

It has been reported that during the Hiroshima & Nagasaki atomic bombing, Doctor Tatsuichiro Akizuki, M.D. (the Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Francis's Hospital) in Nagasaki guided his staff & patients with a stringent diet of the following:

  • Brown rice
  • Hokkaido pumpkin
  • Kombu & some seaweeds
  • Miso soup
  • Tamari soy soup
  • Wakame
He also prohibited/discouraged the consumption of sugared & sweet intake as they are believed to be suppressing immune system.
